Unable to type numerical values

I am trying to update the Automate =%26gt; Fit image function with new numbers but the only keys that my Macbook pro recognizes are the symbols on the numerical keys but when I try to enter anything else (numbers or even letters), I just get a noise and can not enter anything.

I've checked in other functions such as changing brush size and it works fine.

Any help is most welcome here.

Have You taken the usual troubleshooting steps yet (trashing prefs, repairing permissions, creating a new user account etc.)?
