using canon hf200 camcorder! help with...

first off, i think his name is ''harvey'' but thanks for linking me up with the cs4 clean script, fixed my problem of premiere not updating to 4.1 from the trial version so now i can import .mts files!!!?

but under ''new sequence, what is the difference between selecting hdv and avchd??and for using the mts files directly, what should I use, and under avchd, 1080p {or whatever} what is anamorphic, i know the definition but how does it go along with the camera and/or how can i tell the setting of the mts file??im still learning premiere.

another question if someone could help, i am trying to incorporate different speeds and segments of fast and slow motion.?do the keyframes in premiere work like in after effects and if so as easily??i am pretty good with after effects if that will help explaining or how close are after effects and premiere.

last question.?it seems when i make a file/project i am just completely unorganized, what is the best way to become organized and there are random files allover to include ''pek'' and ''cfe'' , what are these and how do i make it cleaner/easier to navigate and organize?

thanks

Mike,

For this camera you need to use AVCHD for your sequence. AVCHD is a MPEG4 codec. HDV is a MPEG2 codec and only used for tape based cameras, like the Canon HV20/30/40, A1, G1, or Sony Z1, Z7, and the like.

.pek are peak files required to show the waveform in the timeline, .cfa are conformed audio files required to edit audio as 32 bits.

These files are stored in the Media Cache. In Preferences you can designate where this is located. You can clear the media cache and PR will recreate them as necessary.

Keyframes work about the same. You set keyframes in the Effects Control panel.

To remain organized I use the bins. One for titles, another one for music, other bins for media, like camera 1, camera 2, camera 3, etc., another bin for voice overs, another one for stills, and so on.

i think his name is ''harvey''
