Symbol Std with FM?

In a thread a while back, Harald Brandt mentioned that Symbol Std was installed with FM 8. Does anybody know if it's also installed with FM 9 or Acrobat Pro 9?

I'm trying to troubleshoot somebody else's FM9 install, but I don't want to have to reinstall mine in order to figure out if it does in fact come with Symbol Std.

My file is dated Aug 2003, so I don't think mine came with FM 8 or 9.

Sheila,

It should be with FM9.

Symbol Std with FM?

Aha, thanks, Arnis!?That led me to an interesting discovery, that my Distiller just had the path to FM 8 fonts listed, not the path to FM 9 fonts. And getting back to my original issue, I have multiple Symbol Std fonts, one in Windows\Fonts and then the ones in FM8 and FM9.

And,?vague recollection: didn't the collective ''we'' discover once upon a time that removing the CJK fonts from the fminit\fonts\adobe had the effect of speeding up FM's loading?

I'm not certain that this is still applicable to FM9 on the loading speed issue, even though these CJK fonts range from 2Mb - 16Mb in size. I tried a somewhat unscientific timing with and without and there was no significant difference in the FM loading speed taking into account the variability of reading the second hand on my watch.
