Linking to excel tables on multiple...

I have an excel workbook with 40 worksheets in it. Each worksheet contains a different table. Bringing the tables into indesign (linked to excel) is no problem.

My problem occurs when I change any worksheet in Excel all of the tabels in Indesign show the changed file icon in the links panel. When I update the links all of the tables get changed even though I had only changed 1 table in Excel. Has anyone seen this before? Any work arounds?

Thanks,
Phil

You're linked to one file. That one file has changed thus you're told it's out of date.

The only ''workaround'' is to use individual files instead of one file with multiple worksheets.

Thanks for taking a look.

I was hoping that wasn't going to be the answer.

My catalog project contains 149 data and 149 price tables. So 300 excel files instead of the current 8 isn't going to fly.

I am far enough along in the time line that I just need to get it done. I will need to look in to more automated options for next time.
